What makes a smartphone "smart"?
Most people have a reasonably good idea of what a smart phone is but most really don't know what it is that makes a smart phone smart. There are actually several things that make your smart phone different from a regular phone and all of them help to make it smart. The main thing however is that your smart phone is basically a small hand held computer.
The thing that really makes a smart phone smart is that it has an operating system just like your computer does. This allows you to switch from one application to another on your phone and use it in a similar way to the way in which you would use your computer. This is really what separates a smart phone from a regular cell phone. There are a lot of cell phones that have similar features to a smart phone but the operating system makes them much easier to use which is really what makes the smart phone smart.
The other thing that makes the smart phone smart is that it has an application processor. This is really the same as the processor in your computer, and in many cases they use the same components. The applications processor is what allows you to use all of the applications that are available for a smart phone. This is why you can get so many more apps for a smart phone than you can for a regular cell phone; there is a lot more processing power in a smart phone. The result is that you can run apps that wouldn't be possible on other phones.
Another thing that makes a smart phone smart is that it can be synchronized with your other computing device. A smart phone is basically a small computer so you can plug it into your laptop or your desk top computer and transfer files from one to the other. This greatly increases the uses that you have for your smart phone since you can now use a computer with a regular keyboard if you need to type a long document for example and then transfer it to your smart phone if you need to take it with you.
A smart phone is also smart because it is much easier to use than a regular cell phone. In particular you will find that a smart phone has things like a touch screen and a full QWERTY keyboard. This makes it much easier to use than a cell phone which pretty much requires you to use a regular keypad. This is largely the result of the fact that you can do so many things with a smart phone that you can't do with a regular phone, you need to have a much easier way to input data and to transfer between items.
